Tarakasura performed intense penance and pleased Lord Shiva. When Shiva appeared, Tarakasura asked for a dangerous boon: “Give me a Shiva Lingam that stays inside my body and protects me from every weapon in the universe.”

Shiva agreed. But he warned: “The Lingam will protect you… but if someone breaks it, your end will come.” Tarakasura accepted— and that was the beginning of chaos.

With the Lingam inside him, Tarakasura became invincible. No god, no weapon, no force could harm him. He conquered the heavens, defeated the gods, and became the ruler of the three worlds. Karthikeya vs Tarakasura – The Divine Battle
